After the well deserved rest day, I left this morning Duqm. I was a good girl: oiled the chain and checked my oil level 😁

The plan last night, was to go to 'The Maledives' of Oman, but as there is no shade to camp and you drive through a salt pan, I changed my mind this morning 🤓 I thought of taking the ferry to the Madirah Island. Reading up on iOverlander about fees, I was a bit shocked! So I tried to go through the official website, but no luck 🤔😵‍💫 and again no shade!

So I scanned on satelite imagine the coast along and at Al Ashkharah seem to be pavilions again. So 400km it is then!

I was lucky with the weather, cloudy and just 29°C 😁🤟 I only had quick fuel stopps as I didn't want to arrive late - just in case! And as my auxiliar lights not working 🫣😵

I arrived and looked promising driving along these pavilions, but first I needed a supermarket for something to eat...

This area must have had heavy rain as a lot of puddles, but the village I didn't like it all! The wet, dirty aspect didn't help... After I got my grocery, I went back to the fpot, but being there 10mins I felt unconfortable!! Too many cars driving around...I know, the locals love sitting in the car and watching the sea (or whatever svmcenic view), but being solo-female it made me feeling unconfortable for the night. So I quickly booked a hotel in Al Hadd, 90mins to drive. The challenge is on: race against sunset! 🤭

I made it before dark, but that was the part with the most beautiful landscape all day!! And I couldn't stop for a photo 😵‍💫 Also did I pass more pavilions in nicer areas 😳😵 And it felt like being back in KSA: sudden speedbumps!!

I stopped at a hotel I thought I booked, but it was another one 🫣🤭

When I was back out at my bike, a local approached talking to me. It turned out to be Fayal, the tourguide I got highly recommended in the past. How funny is that!! He offered me to stay at his camp, but tonight I got the hotel booked. So tomorrow I shall finally camp, hopefully see some turtles and swim with the fluoristic algea 😳🤔 Lets see!!

As rushing through boring landscape, not many pictures today. And when landscape got scenic, I couldn't stop 😵🙄 Will go a few kilometres back tomorrow though as so beautiful!
